Meet Our Suppliers
Sykes House Farm have been one of our valued suppliers since the beginning in 2012 and continue to deliver the finest meat around!
We love working with local suppliers and producers, Yorkshire has some of the best raw ingredients available and being right in the centre of Yorkshire means we can get the best from the coast to the Dales.
On a sunny Tuesday morning we were kindly invited to take a tour of Sykes House Farm in Thorp Arch, on the outskirts of Wetherby. With three of our head chefs and three managers in tow we arrived at the farm in its gorgeous setting, down a long country lane with farm land all around. A quick meet and greet with the head office team was followed by a fantastic tour of the site with Keith, a long standing employee of Sykes House Farm who’s been with them since the beginning and who’s now officially ‘retired’
Keith led us around the site showing us all sections of the butchers and introducing us to their 70 employees along the way. The care of the produce through the process and attention to detail with all aspects was fantastic to see and now we all know why the meat we get from them is so, so good!
After the tour we took a trip to their butcher’s shop which is open to the general public which we highly recommend taking the trip out and visiting. The only problem will be coming away with too much.
Cooking With Sykes & Stray FM
After visiting Sykes House Farm on the Tuesday we lined up a cooking demonstration with Stray FM and Sykes House Farm on the Thursday using some of the lamb we had seen being carved on Tuesday.
Thanks to Beth Parsons from Stray FM and Sally Culpan from Sykes House Farm for popping over and cooking with our executive chef Adrian Rowe. He made a gorgeous Parsley and Pistachio crusted rack of Wharfedale lamb with Green Beans and Sautéed New Potatoes, listen to the link below to hear how he made it.
